2009 season at an end

The 2009 season is at an end. Round 18 saw our 8's secure a win and a loss . Our 10's secure a win and a loss, our 11's secure a win and 3rd on the ladder. Well done Lads. Our 13's had a win and finished top of the 13B's giving them a 14A birth Next year... Well done Lads, great result this season. The 15's wereto draw at home to GRFA in a match that showed that they should have finished a lot higher then their position of 6th. Our 16's super league finished with a win and were to end up 3rd. I still beleive that they were the best team in the league. Well done Boy's, I hope all of you every sucess in your Football career. For all of those heading to the UK for Trials; "Best of Lick" and just play your best and it will be enough.. This year seemed a long year for most of the comittee. For some reason it seemed longer than it was. It was no longer then other seasons, so I have to put it down to the extra effort most put in this season. I must say that in the 3 years that I have been at the club, this was "by far" the best year I 've had. I have enjoyed the season far more than previous years, and I owe alot to the following people. Stratos Tzanoudakis (Coach Co-ordinator). Thanks Strat for always grounding me when I started loosing the Plot, and for the constant objective guideness of all coaches and team staff. Thanks also for all the other over and above "stuff" which you always do.Tony Paolozza (council Liason officer) , for always being there to support me , and for all the hard work with the Council stuff amongst other things. John Farrugia, for always being honest in all things , especially when it required being the one to point it out. And thank you for taking on the biggest team of all this year in the 10's. Sandra Blicharz, for not only helping out the committee as a member, but for being by far the most efficient and well organised team manager. If only all the team managers were as efficient.... well we can dream. The girls in the canteen, "headed by Toni Tzanoudakis", Fantastic effort this year Girls, well done to Maria, Louise, Mary, Sandra, and (whilst not a girl) Wally. This year saw the best year in some time, thank you. Thankyou to Spase and Helen for their fantastic 8's and 10's match reports. Thanks to Barry and Dee Mawby for their great 13's reports. Thanks to Ante Gavron for his exacting 16's reports. And thanks to all the coaches for putting in the "hard yards " in this season. To Tony Samaras: It has been great to know you, you have always been the most Professional Coach we have, and the Club wishes you all the best in you endevour to move onto Seniors coaching. Know that you will always be welcome here at Sunshine Heights. And Finally an extra speacial thankyou to our "President" Michael Sposato. Michael it has been an absolute pleasure working with you this year, and I must say that I dont think I could have made it through the season without you. So Thankyou for everything, and may we enjoy a great "partnership" for a long time to come. 2010 will see a big change to the club, as more players and parents from other clubs have shown interest in our club this year. It is a little scary thinking of the potential influx of players. However it is not suprising. We have a great club, and it is the parents and players that make a good club. I hope to see all of you back next season, and we (the committee) thank all of you for a most enjoyable year. Signing off for 2009 , I say: Please keep looking in on the website as all sections will be updated with the relevant information for next season. We will have a new site up early in the new year, that promises to be bigger and better than this one. Ill endevour to keep all upto date with the current Liverpool News, and the rest of the Premier league hehe... SO.... Sit back, relax, and enjoy " The Beautiful Game"
